Biofuels Report Released - GSGP/Innovation Maritime

Consistent with the work outlined in the Governors' and Premiers' Green Shipping Action Plan, today GSGP and Innovation Maritime released a new report exploring the potential system-wide impacts of greater biofuel use by vessels operating on the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River.

The report, titled "Domestic Great Lakes & St. Lawrence Shipping Industry: Transition to Biofuels," contains current production and growth predictions, an assessment of biofuels' greenhouse gas emissions, potential switchover scenarios, an economic analysis of biofuels pricing, as well as recommendations to encourage more widespread biofuels use in the region.
